Russian billionaire seeks investment opportunities in Vietnam

Russian billionaire Roustam Tarkio has come to Vietnam to bid on lucrative investment opportunities in the country.

On September 28, his private jet arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. This initial visit is the start of a series of meetings designed to explore the best business opportunities in Vietnam. This is the first time he has visited Vietnam.


The billionaire is not only interested in business, but also in fashion and entertainment fields. Many Vietnamese models like Thu Hang, Trang Nhung, Bebe Pham, Trieu Trang were spotted accompanying him. On September 29, Mr. Tariko had a meeting with Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc and other partners. In the evening of the same day, he hosted a Russian style party with a winter palace theme to entertain his guests, which included partners and celebrities.


Roustam Tariko is 48 years old. He is among the most successful businessmen in Russia. He is the founder and owner of the famous vodka brand “Russian Standard.” He is also the owner and Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Standard Bank, which is the biggest bank in Russia. At present, the bank accounts for about 75% of the credit card market and 40% of the capital loan market in Russia.


In addition, he also established the Miss Russia beauty Contest. He was the first Russian to ever own a Maybach vehicle worth USD500,000. His impressive stable of luxurious vehicles also includes a Bugatti Veyron sport car, a Boeing 737 aircraft, and a yacht.

Mr. Tariko was on Forbes’ list of world’s richest people in 2007 at number 150 and was voted the most attractive billionaire bachelor on Earth.


In 2008, the most attractive billionaire bachelor on Earth became the most romantic billionaire when he got married to Yelena, his longtime girlfriend and love interest for many years. He spent a lot of money on putting his wife’s name on a newly found flower species discovered in Madagascar in 2007.


On September 30, Tariko flew to Hanoi to meet his partners before returning home. His outlook is positive, and he is looking forward to pursuing new opportunities here in Vietnam.
