Vietnam’s Mach to defend title at World Bodybuilding Champs

Defending champion Pham Van Mach of Vietnam will take part in the 2010 World Bodybuilding Championship from October 30-31 in India in the men’s 55kg category.
Though having successfully defended his Asian champion title for years since his first one in 2004, the 34-year-old athlete is expected to face harsh challenges to defend his title at the coming event in Varanasi city.
Mach had to concede the gold medal to his rival Ehsan Khajavi from Iran at the Asian bodybuilding tournament held in August in the United Arab Emirates.
“All contenders are improving fast and I know I need to make my best efforts to defend the title,” the An Giang-born Mach said before leaving for India on Tuesday.
85 countries have confirmed participation to the event in India, with a count of over 600 athletes.
