Huge moth caught in Binh Dinh

Curious crowds are flocking to see a giant, colorful moth that a man in the central province of Binh Dinh caught in his garden.
Tran Van Danh of Hoai Nhon District said the insect is 13 centimeters long and has a wingspan of 24 cm.
“Many people have asked me to sell it but I refused,” he said.
An expert said the moth is most probably an Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas), a large insect found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, especially around the Malaysian archipelago.
Atlas moths are thought to be the largest in the world with wingspans of 25-30 cm.
