Clever form of debt collection

VietNamNet Bridge – People who travel on Nguyen Van Cu road in Long Bien district, Hanoi in recent days all burst out laughing seeing a strange method of debt collection by an advertising firm.

An advertising firm that could not collect money from its client, a lubricant oil company named Davina, hung a board reading: “Davina Lubricant Oil Company Didn’t Pay for This Billboard.” The ad was hung on Davina’s billboard, covering half of the sign.

This creative board appeared on October 1 on the wall of a private hotel on Nguyen Van Cu road.

Bach Van Mung, from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Competition Control Department, said that the Law on Competition has regulations on advertisements that harm the prestige of other firms. However, the authorities must research the contract signed between these two companies to define whether or not the advertising firm is violating the rules.
