2 kg crab netted in central lagoon

The crabs in O Loan lagoon in the central Phu Yen Province seem to be growing bigger, with a fisherman catching a two-kilogram creature a few days ago at the same place where a week earlier another had netted a 1.5 kilogram crab.

It was sold to a seafood trader in Tuy An District for VND100,000 (US$5.1).

Local fishermen called it the biggest crab they have ever seen.

On October 2 Dang Thi Thu Trang of Tuy An had caught the 1.5 kilogram crab.

She had sold it to another fisherman who released it back into the lagoon.
