1,000 years of Hanoi through the eyes of international friends

Nearly 200 photos taken and collected by foreign expatriates in Vietnam as well as photographers from many countries are on display in Hanoi.
Titled “Hanoi 1,000 years through the eyes of international friends”, the photos exhibited capture the simple moments of people and sceneries of Hanoi. Visitors have a chance to admire such famous relics and landscapes as Hoan Kiem Lake, The Huc Bridge, Tortoise Tower, Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc Pagoda, the Pavilion of Constellation of Literature, Long Bien Bridge and more in colour or black and white photos. They are taken by foreign ambassadors and diplomats from Ireland, Poland, Italy, China, Australia, etc. who are living and working in Vietnam, as well as researchers, artists and photographers from many countries around the world.
After the great success of the exhibition titled “Hanoi in me” in 2009, Philipe Chaplain, Chairman of France’s Heritage League, has also sent 40 photos of old Hanoi that he has collected to this exhibition.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, said the exhibition will help strengthen the friendship, understanding and cultural exchange between people of Hanoi and Vietnam with international friends.
The exhibition is open until September 28 at 45 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi. Followings are some of the photos on display:
